Henrik Hasenberg : Artistic and musical direction

Henrik Hasenberg, born on 19 January 2000, obtained his bachelor’s degree in sacred music at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.
He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in choral conducting with Professor Martin Berger at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf and a master’s degree in sacred music at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.
His teachers, such as Professor Thierry Mechler, Mr Otto Maria Krämer, organist at Cologne Cathedral, Professor Winfried Bönig and Professor Mareile Krumbholz, have had a decisive influence on his musical career.

Since September 2023, Henrik has been conducting the Ahrweiler Chamber Choir, with which he gave a particularly moving performance of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s St Matthew Passion, which was greatly appreciated by the audience.
In March 2024, he took over as director of the Franco-German choir in Bonn. He is also assistant choir director of the Cologne Oratorio Choir. Professors Martin Berger, Robert Göstl and Christopher Brauckmann, as well as Mr Barnaby Smith and Mr Stephen Layton, have greatly enriched his choir conducting skills.

The directors and teachers Anne Kohler and Georg Grün are also sources of inspiration for him. As a musician at Bonn Minster, a position he held until the end of 2023, he directed the church’s singing school and choir, which gave him solid experience working with children.
In addition to conducting choirs, Henrik has a great passion for the organ. He can be heard regularly in concert both as an accompanist and as a soloist. His masterclasses with Mr Vincent Dubois, Mr Guy Bovet and Mr Ludger Lohmann have provided him with new inspiration and numerous ideas.
